Getting Your First Website Online with Fantastic NZ Hosting

Congratulations on your new hosting plan! Here's how to get your first website live. Whether you're building from scratch or using WordPress, we've got you covered.

Option 1: Install WordPress (Recommended for Most Users)

WordPress powers over 40% of all websites worldwide and is the easiest way to get started.

  1. Log into cPanel via your client area.
  2. Scroll down to the Softaculous Apps Installer section.
  3. Click on WordPress.
  4. Click Install Now.
  5. Choose your domain, set a site name, and create an admin username and password.
  6. Click Install — your WordPress site will be ready in under a minute!

Option 2: Upload Your Own Website Files

  1. Log into cPanel and open File Manager.
  2. Navigate to the public_html folder — this is your website's root directory.
  3. Click Upload and select your website files (HTML, CSS, images, etc.).
  4. Make sure your homepage is named index.html or index.php.

Point Your Domain

If you registered your domain with Fantastic NZ Hosting, it will automatically point to your hosting. If your domain is registered elsewhere, update the nameservers to:

  • ns1.fantasticnzhosting.co.nz
  • ns2.fantasticnzhosting.co.nz

DNS changes can take up to 24 hours to propagate across New Zealand and the rest of the world, though it's usually much faster.
